Halton Delivers Dampers for Amogy’s Tugboat, the World’s First Carbon-Free Ammonia-Powered Vessel
Amogy is on a mission to build technology that unlocks ammonia’s potential as a clean energy source, accelerating the global journey to net-zero emissions and sustaining future generations. To date, their ammonia-to-power system has been successfully demonstrated in a 5kW drone, a 100kW tractor, and a 300kW semi-truck. Currently, Amogy’s team is retrofitting a tugboat, the NH3 Kraken, to be the world’s first carbon-free, ammonia-powered vessel.
Halton Fire Dampers are tailored for specific projects
Halton manufactures custom dampers for demanding projects for landside and offshore environments. Our knowhow is based on decades of work and research.
Sustainability is in a cornerstone of Halton’s strategy. Therefore, it was an absolute honour that Amogy chose Halton dampers, manufactured at Halton’s carbon-neutral factory, for this historic tugboat demonstration. The scope of supply includes fire dampers with explosion-proof components and non-return dampers.
After this final technical demonstration, Amogy will pivot to commercialization where the next applications of the technology will be on commercially deployed vessels. Stay tuned at Amogy.co. This is the company to keep an eye on!
